Uterine FactorUterine fibroids and polyps are both benign (non-cancerous) growths in the uterus. They can usually be diagnosed by ultrasound or HSG. Depending on the size and location of these masses, your physician may recommend their removal. These polyps and smaller fibroids can be accessed through the cervix and removed without an abdominal incision. Larger fibroids may require a laparotomy (abdominal incision) to effect removal.
