Understanding Cryostorage at RFP: Billing, Access & Your Options
The Regional Fertility Program (RFP) offers fertility treatments using patient or donor frozen embryos, eggs, and/or sperm. Cryopreservation provides patients with the opportunity to test embryos, undergo additional transfers from a single cycle, preserve fertility, plan families over time, or use donor gametes, offering greater flexibility and control aligning to their family building goals.
RFP partners with Prelude Cryopreservation to offer an online portal for cryostorage management including billing, and sample disposition. Your samples stay securely frozen and monitored onsite; the portal is simply for easier patient access.
Here’s what you need to know:
Your Prelude Cryopreservation Account
Within approximately two weeks of your first cryopreservation cycle, you will receive a Welcome Email inviting you to create a profile at: cryo.preludeconnect.com
This secure portal allows you to:
- View and manage your cryostorage inventory
- Manage storage payment(s)
- Update contact information
- Disposition of sample(s)
All services are streamlined through a single account. Should you undergo multiple treatment cycles or store various specimen types (embryos, eggs, or sperm), you may conveniently access all information with one login.
If you do not receive your Welcome Email, please contact Prelude Cryopreservation directly:
- Email: cryoservices@preludefertility.com
- Phone: (888) 216-6538
Storage Fees & Renewals
Some treatment packages cover the first year of storage upon freezing. Other services, like sample ship-ins or procedures require a combined payment at the time of freezing or shipping to RFP, followed by ongoing billing from Prelude Cryopreservation. You will receive an annual renewal notice on your freeze date anniversary, based on your earliest freeze if you have multiple.
Patients remain responsible for storage fees until all specimens are:
- Used
- Transported to another facility
- Or official disposition consent forms are fully executed
It’s important to review renewal notices promptly to avoid interruptions in storage coverage.
Managing Your Stored Specimens
With the Prelude Cryopreservation portal, you have a secure and caring way to manage your sample(s). If you are considering a disposition decision, your RFP care team can help guide you through the medical and emotional aspects of this process. We know the decision can be very difficult, however if at any point you decide to move forward, we’ll make the process easier - simply log in to request thawing and disposal of your sample(s).
Please note: All embryos, regardless of Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT) results, will remain in storage unless signed disposition consent forms are completed.
Keep Your Contact Information Updated
It is essential to keep your contact information current with RFP. Prelude Cryopreservation will use the email address on file to send billing notices and important updates.
Please notify the clinic if you experience:
- A legal name change
- A change in email address
- A new phone number or mailing address
Maintaining updated contact information ensures uninterrupted communication and storage management.
