Investigations for males or persons with sperm are essential to accurately diagnose the underlying causes and guide effective treatment options. A standard semen analysis is covered through provincial health care plans, and as such there is no cost to complete a semen analysis. This process requires 2-3 days of abstinence for the person undergoing testing (including sexual activity or masturbation). A sample will be produced in a private collection room, which will then be immediately placed in an incubator for analysis.
